Davido Lied About Buying A Private Jet – Capital NG

Davido who announced last week on social media that he was about to the the proud owner of a private jet has just been called out by a a Nigerian media outlet.

Breaking: Indonesia Executes Nigerians Despite Plea

 The Indonesian Government have executed Eight convicted drug smugglers through firing squad on the island of Nusakambangan.

Local media reports that the execution took place in the Besi prison, Wednesday morning local time.

Earlier the police firing squad was seen boarding the boat to the island where the executions took place

The executed include Australian nationals Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

Australia had appealed for the delay of the execution due to the way the case was prosecuted in the Indonesian court.

Xenophobia: FG Asks Nigerians To Forgive South Africa

After The Nigerian Federal Government yesterday denied calling back envoys to South Africa, The FG have asked Nigerians to forgive South Africa over Xenophobic attacks on foreigners in that country.

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs minister, Ambassador Aminu Wali today asked the people to forgive when he answerred his summoning before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs in Abuja over the recent xenophobic attacks in the former apartheid enclave.

Wali arrived alongside the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs II, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, the Nigerian envoys in South Africa, Messrs Uche Ajulu-Okeke, and Martin Cobham.

Wali told the Senate to reconsider its stand on the five-point resolution, seeking severance of bilateral relation with South Africa.

The Senate had last week, told the Nigerian Government to recall its envoys and drag the Zulu king, Goodwill Zwelithini, before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague.

Wali in his presentations explained that what happened in South Africa was not targeted at Nigerians, adding that the incident had negatively affected few Nigerians.

He said, “As at now the situation has not warranted such drastic actions like recalling our envoys in South Africa. We are big brothers of Africa. We cannot retaliate by recalling our envoys because it will send wrong signals which could affect their economy.

“Even countries whose citizens were killed and got their shops looted have not taken such action.”

South African president, Jacob Zuma had earlier today held a press conference trying to help and boost back the image of his nation, declaring that they are not a Xenophobic heaven.

Group Attacks Buhari Over AIT Ban

Reactions have continued to trail the controversial ban by Mohammadu Buhari on Africa Independent Television (AIT) which restricted the TV station from covering activities of the president elect until further notice.

How Nigerians Support 'Mama Taraba' Aisha Al-Hassan

After Aisha Al-Hassan, who might have become the first female governor in Nigeria, was defeated by the PDP governorship candidate, Darius Ishaku, at this year’s governorship re-run election in Taraba state, a lot of Nigerians expressed their disagreement towards her loss.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Ishiaku got 360,318 votes while the APC’s candidate, Aisha Al-Hassan, got 275,985 votes.

Nigerians all over the country took to their Twitter, Facebook accounts to support Aisha Al-Hassan. At one point there were indications that Ms. Al-Hassan, fondly known as Mama Taraba by supporters, may overtake her main challenger, Mr. Ishaku.

After the INC declared Darius Ishaku as the winner of Taraba governorship election, Aisha Alhassan reportedly has rejected the results of the poll. Describing the entire elections process as “daylight robbery”, she allegedly said that the APC would challenge the results in the elections petitions tribunal.

ICC To Probe South Africa's President, Zulu King

A Story Of Nigerian Woman Survived On A Death Boat

Queen is a survivor of a deadly migrant journey through Mediterranean. 22-year old Nigerian woman recounts her dangerous and long journey in search of better fortunes in Europe.

According to data of International Migrants Organization, Mediterranean is the deadliest route for migrants in the world. More than 1700 migrants have drowned in its waters since the beginning of the year. 22-year old Nigerian Queen is among those who were lucky enough to survive on that deadly journey. 

She risked her life trying to help her family members caught in a difficult financial situation. This situation made her travel near 5000 km in search of better fortunes in Europe.
